INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION STUDENT APPLICANT INSTRUCTIONS

 

Please be advised, seats in the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario International Education Program are limited. 

 

 

Before you begin

 

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario will only accept complete applications using our secure online application system.  Incomplete or unpaid applications will not be processed.

 

Before you begin the online application process, please make sure you have collected all the necessary information and documents. You will need the applicant’s complete information and at least one parent’s complete information. This includes names, birthdates, addresses, etc. Required and recommended documents (see below) must be submitted as PDF or JPEG files only and less than 5MB each. If any document is larger than 5MB, it has been scanned at too high a resolution and must be rescanned at a lower resolution before beginning the application process.

 

Please be advised the application fee is $250 CAD and is non-refundable. Please contact us via email or telephone to make arrangements for application fee payment.

Required documents

 

In order to submit an application, the documents listed below are required. If you do not upload these documents into the online application system, you cannot complete the application process. If you do not submit a complete application within seven (7) days, the partial application will be automatically deleted.

 

  1. Transcripts or Report Cards. You must have a record of grades for the last two years, translated into English, they must be in PDF or JPEG files only, and less than 5MB in size. You will only be able to upload one document, so please ensure all pages of the records of grades are scanned as a single document.

  2. Legal Agreement. The parent(s) of the applicant must sign our agreement. Before starting the application process, please download the CDSBEO International Student Agreement, have it signed in ink, and scanned as a PDF or JPEG file only.  
  3. Passport Photo Page. Please scan the passport photo page of the applicant’s passport. 

  4. Reference Letters (2 letters are required). Please have a teacher, school counselor, or Headmaster/Principal write a letter of recommendation for the applicant. The letters should be on school letterhead and identify the student and their strong points. If the letters are longer than one page, make sure you scan all pages as a single document.

  5. Student’s Letter of Intent. This letter is written by the student explaining their desire to come to Canada and study in the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario. It should outline their past studies, their interests and hobbies, and their future goals. If this letter is longer than one page, make sure you scan all pages as a single document.

  6. Medical History & Immunization Records Form. Before starting the application process, please download the Medical History Form, complete it in English and have it signed in ink by the applicant's physician, and scan it as a single document. Please make sure you scan all pages as a single document. 

    Please Note: The medical insurance coverage provided to the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario’s international students is subject to limitations and exclusions. Students who require care for unstable or chronic/ongoing conditions will have to pay for medical treatments directly.   7. Custodian Document. If the applicant will not be part of MLI homestay program they must assign a custodian. This custodian must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, over 25 years old, and must live full time in the Eastern Ontario area.  Please upload the Custodian Document once completed and signed by all parties or email it directly to international.education@cdsbeo.on.ca

  8. Attention High School Students (Grades 9-12)

    To help you choose an educational path that will best suit your interests and goals we have attached the Course Selection Options Form you may choose from the High School Course Selection Form.  Please be advised, students are assigned 4 courses per semester. As noted on the form, some are Compulsory Courses and some are Elective Courses.  Please rank your Elective Course preferences in order beginning with #1, with #1 being most favourable. Note, not every Elective Course will be offered at all schools within the CDSBEO.

    Upon receipt of your Course Selection Options Form a draft timetable will be created for you, however, please note, you may meet with the Guidance Department upon starting school to discuss potential revisions to your schedule.

 

 

INTERNATIONAL PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER APPLICANT INSTRUCTIONS

    2. Passport Photo Page. Please scan the passport photo page of the applicant’s passport. 

    3. Reference Letter (personal or professional). If the letters are longer than one page, make sure you scan all pages as a single document.

    4. A clear Criminal Record Check.  Please make sure the document is recent (within the last 3 months), and it is in English.  Please remember to scan all pages as a single document.
    5. Medical History & Immunization Records Form. Before starting the application process, please download the  Medical History Form, complete it in English, and have it signed in ink by the applicant's physician, and scan it as a single document. Please make sure you scan all pages as a single document.
