Welcome to the Qualicum International Student Program Online Homestay Application. 

 

*Note* You must be living in the Parksville-Qualicum and surrounding areas (District 69) in order to qualify as a host family

 

After you create your online account, you will have the opportunity to register as a regular Homestay or as a Group Homestay.  Group homestay families are families who are hosting students when they come to the district as a group for a one to four week stay.  Regular host families host a student attending from September to June or for one semester.

 

Qualicum International Student Program will only accept complete applications using our secure online application system.

 

When filling out the application it is important that you provide full and detailed answers.  Applicant must be 25 years of age or older.

 

1. Please click on the Create Account link to begin the application process.
2. Enter the required information in the Account Details screen. (First Name, Last Name, Email address)
3. Create a password
4. An Account Creation Successful message will appear, notifying the user that an email has been sent. Check junk/spam folders if the email is not received within 15 minutes.
5. Check your inbox for a message with subject starting with “User Account Verification”. Click the link to
   complete the account creation.
6. You will get a message: Validation Successful - return to Sign In Page
7. Enter the email and password used to create the account and click the Sign In button.
8. Read the TRUE North Privacy Policy and click "I Accept and Agree" to proceed to the family portal.  

 

You can now fill out the application online and save your steps if you need to continue later. 

• Please click on "Create Account"to begin the process. 
• When filling out the application it is important that you provide full and detailed answers.  
• Complete the online host family application form BEFORE getting a criminal record check.
• Required and recommended photos must be submitted as JPEG files only and less than 5MB each. If any document is larger than 5MB, it has been scanned at too high a resolution and must be rescanned at a lower resolution before beginning the application process. We require a photo of your family, a photo of the main living area of the home and a photo of the main living space.

We will also require a Criminal Record Check from any adult, aged 18 or older, living in the home or living in a suite or rental on your property. Click here for information about obtaining your CRC Online.   Online CRC's will be sent directly to us, otherwise you will need to pick up at the RCMP and bring them to us.  CRC’s may be dropped off at our office located at 502 Bay Avenue, Parksville.  

 

Once your application has been completed and reviewed by our department, a homestay coordinator will contact you to set up a visit to your home.
